Hello!

My firm is running into an issue & I was curious how others have handled it:

There are times when a few different people are keynoting on different projects & need to be in the txt/excel file at the same time to make additions to the keynote schedule.  Is there a better way than just waiting on them to close the file, or taking shifts using it?

Create unique text files per project. Start with the same base, expand from there.

we too have thought about doing that, but then how do you keep the master keynote file current without everyone else saving to it and erasing what you just added?

I think you are asking for trouble if you don't all just line up for the same file.

It's best to keep one master keynote file so all your families are current with the keynote file (assuming your family types have keynote numbers).

I would highly recommend nominating one person in your firm that would be responsible for maintaining your project standards (including keynotes, template files, standard families).  It can create a huge communication problem if people are changing standards on a whim without knowing how it will affect the other & future projects in the office.
