I created the attached group for use in our residential projects; but I have some questions about it.

1)  How can I create this as a family and not a group?  I would like to have the walls included in this family, but I don't know how to do this, or even if it can be done.

2)  When I load this group into a project, two of the three base cabinets change color; this is strange to me considering they are copies of the third.  Also, I have this same problem with a couple of other components downloaded from the Web Library, namely a washer and dryer.  Individually, they appear fine; but when I combine them into a family or group, the dryer changes color.  Any ideas?

3)If it's not possible to create the attached file as a family, what about loading the group, purged of course, ungrouping it, then deleting the group from the browser to keep the file size down.

There are probably simple answers to these questions, so forgive me; just not sure about the differences between groups and families just yet.

Thanks for any info you can provide.

Jim

Hi, you must create that in a "Furniture Family" and not in the "Residential Project", 1) - now you must create a "Group" and "Save to Library-Save Group", 2) - I think you allready had in Project the same material/name but with other "Texture-Color", 3) - If you do in the "1)" - create a group and save like a group, you don't need to Purge to keep the file size down....
