Hi, you only can "Attach" wall to wall or to Slab and Roofs, but the image it's seems good, what's the problem?

I don't get it, by Your images you just create a wall under the stairs using the "Swept Blend", are you talking about the category of the wall? when you create a in-place you can choose the category for your elements but if you choose at the begining a "Generic Model" you can change that if you edit the "Object-swept blend" and in Settings-Family category and parameters and change to "Wall".... if this is what do you want...

OK, so create a "VOID SWEPT BLEND" to remove that portion of wall....

The way I understand this is that you want the wall to actually attach to the stair.  Does this mean you want the wall to adjust itself if the stair moves up or down?

Ah.. Wait.. I think I see what you are saying.  Your Void Swept Blend is not cutting your wall.  Is this correct?

My guess is that you can not see the video because you do not have the latest version of flash installed.  This means you probably won't be able to see this video either, but you can give it a shot:
