Why do I get inconsistancies when placing a note saved as a detail group? I didnt' think a screen shot would clarify any better my question so hopeully the following descriptions will suffice. Sorry for the lengthy script.

When I place them in an activated viewport they all place properly meaning that they all place with the correct text.  When placed on a sheet with a deactivated viewport they place with a completely different default set of notes.  In all cases, whichever note I place on the sheet w-deactivated view it defaults to the same body of notes.

I have found that Revit has some strange ways of handeling items in model vs drafting or "paper space" views.  Sometimes you can't even copy paste from one view to another.  It seems that Revit makes some associations between your text and the model elements the text might be pointing to.
