im trying to make an annotation to put inbetween two sections. I have tried a bunch of different ways but cant make the dimensions variable. there is a jpeg of whta im trying to make and the revit file im working on does anyone know how I could go about it?

when you make any family that is going to be parametric i always start with adding reference planes/lines then add dimensions and parameters. flex these to make sure all is working how you want it. when adding lines constrain them to the reference planes/lines. have a look at what i did to your symbol. i only did the one side. even with the ends of lines, use align to align to the ref line. hope this helps
