Still in the process of learning this thing, so sorry if this sounds too simple...

i have a building with an octagonal dome, and I am trying to build the roof structure. the basic components were too simple, so I am using the solid modeling commands to make blended sweeps as the main beams for the dome. Of course since it's a dome the beam is at an angle (through the plane of 2 different levels). I've been trying to several hours, but I cannot create a path for the swept blend that is anything but i the single floor plane. I cannot even draw a line at an angle between the 2 floor plane to use as a path.
