I cant seem to do something that should seemingly be very simple: make a sketch in an elevation view. I am trying to create a curved beam that is arched vertically (vertical curve). I need to make the profile sketch in elevation obviously, but Revit wont allow it. I know it is possible to make vertically curved beams in Revit Structure 2009 since I have seen images of it. What am I missing?

Wow thanks so much for making that video. That was very generous of you to take the time to do that. It was very helpful. Like I thought, it was something simple that I was missing. I didnt have any vertical reference planes drawn, so that is why no elevation choices were showing up when I had to "Pick a Plane". Problem solved. Thanks again!
