Hey gang...have a couple a few questions...and I ain't much for fancy book learnin'

How can I keep my wall finish pattern (tile in this case) from showing up in the center of components (recessed paper towel dispenser, toile t paper dispenser, & sanitary napkin dispenser) I've installed in the wall? I tried to do an "edit family" on the components and then create either a void or an opening, hoping THAT would prevent the pattern from appearing. I'm wondering if there is a way to edit the component's family in such a way that it can affect the host element. Aren't I?

I am trying to edit my wall type to show the concrete base being the entire thickness of the stud. The wall is a 5 1/2" wood stud wall w/ 3/4" tile (up to 8'-0"Winking over 5/8" gyp. bd. on both sides. The concrete base is a sweep I have added using the "Default/Cast In Place Concrete" settings as the sweep "Profile/Material". I have set it offset   -0'-7" (negative 7 inches) and thats as close as I can get it to centrally located with the stud. I cannot figure out how to get it the width of the stud or to be in the exact center of the stud. Huh?!?

Lastly, the very same wall I mentioned above did something strange. I was looking at a section view cut through both single occupancy restrooms and the wall in question is the demising wall between the two. As I mentioned above, it is a 5 1/2" wood stud wall w/ 3/4" tile o/ 5.8" gyp bd. The wall's top constraint was set to "02 T.O. FLOOR PLATE" (which is 10'-0" a.f.f.) but I needed to lower the wall's height so my har lid ceiling could run over the top of it. So i altered the top constraint to "Unconnected" and then changed the wall height to 8'-0" a.f.f. **POOF** alluvasudden the wall no longer shows me the separation lines between the stud, the gyp.bd., & the tile. Its just a empty rectangle, even still now in a wall secion view.
