Ok random question,

But I am curious why almost EVERY family I get, has symbolic lines in the plan and the 3d Objects are turned off for 3d/plan views?  I find myself for about 90% of the families, going in and deleting those symbolic lines and showing the objects in plan.

The reason I noticed this, is because I dont' want to see my floor hatch pattern through counter tops or tables or toilets, or...well you get the point.

Any insight on why this is, or what the pros/cons are, I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,

Lorne

In many instances, 3d objects take more time to display than 2d elements.

I like to leave 3D countertops on but for items like toilets, I don't like the faceted plan so I use a masking region that will hide my floor finish.  I also use masking regions for most furniture items and with possible symbollic lines.

Great that is what I was looking for.  makes sense

I haven't seen a big drop in time with 3d elements.  But I'll keep this in mind when making families.

Thanks,

Lorne
