I would like to create a new fireplace & chimney family and need some advice.  I would like to include parameters for the following:

  • # of fireboxes and locations (per floor and selection for front/back side)
  • # flues tied to selection for quantity of fireboxes
  • Firebox width, height, and depth
  • Hearth width, height, and depth
  • Masonry width and depth
  • Shoulder height, choice of one shoulder or two, and the slope of the shoulder
  • Selection for flue sizes
  • Height of chimney
  • Option for masonry collar detail; preferably with dimension from top of chimney and with projection from finished brick
  • Options for finishes (stone, masonry, etc.)

Simple, huh?  Any ideas on how to go about this?  I've tried creating a family using extrusions and have been able to create a basic shape that represents what I want, but it would be so much better if I could create a detailed family with the parameters shown above.

Thanks in advance.
