Hello, in Revit 2009, in one file, and in new files, I can designate sections specifically as wall sections. In one file I am working in, however, that is not an option. Could a system family be missing? How do I correct this?

What you are seeing is a section type. You can create one by selecting a section and going to properties and clicking Edit/New-->Duplicate.
