i thought i had a short cut around having to draw up a section in drafting view, so i exported the revit section view into autocad and reimported it back into drafting view where i was able to draft the rest of section.
now i'm transfering it onto a sheet and realise that the section marks in the plans don't update to reflect the section and sheet no automatically.
is there anyway to edit the section marks manually?
thx for suggestions

You can create or edit the section mark family under the annotations folder of the revit library. Once you have done this you can change your seciton marks in your project under setting menu, under tags.

However doing this will not make it auto update just give you the ability to easily change it...
this is one of the disadvantages of using drafting views. you always much better off cutting a real section of something using then detailing over the top if need be rather than creating a 2D. This way you will retain links between details/sections etc.
