Hi all, when I open the revit library family call w-wide flange column.rfa, I notice when I click on beam in plan view and their are a few blue triangles and it said "extrusion shape hadle"

Is it possible to create that shape handle when we create custum family?

Hi, when you create a Family you create also, Ref. planes, dimensions and parameters, so you attach your model to those ref. plans and you can control the family based in the parameters you create, so, you don't need the "Blue triangles"...

If you use a reference plane that has a instance based parameter locating it and your geometry is locked to that plane, the blue grips will show up when you place the family.  Type based parameters will not do this.

thanks for that tip.....

in the door family i was working on, when i make the dimension an 'instance parameter' relative to a fixed edge theres no problem but when i make it relative to another ref plane which is not pinned it shows the shape handle

thanks again !
