Good morning,

I have recently started using Revit, and this is the first project that we are using Revit. I have some drafting views in Revit of a see through fireplace set up with AutoCAD drawings linked; I also have elevations and sections that are related to the fireplace. I would like to have a 'smart' elevation marker referencing the elevation that I have placed on a plot sheet. I am able to insert section marks and reference them to the views I have created but not elevation marks.  Does anyone have any suggestions or tricks that I can use other than inserting a 'dummy' elevation mark into the AutoCAD drawing? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

Drafting Views are just that, only drafting.  They are not tied to the model, therefore they cannot contain a "smart" elevation mark.  You will just have to fake in a "dumb" elevation.

If you create a model view and place your drafting elements there (turn off model elements in VG), your callouts will be available.

Hi, i'm having a similar problem. I have two drafting views created. I want to reference one in the other. I can use the callout tool and section tool to reference a drafting view, but when i use the elevation tool the "reference other view" check box is grayed out. I'd really like to not use a dummy tag.

Thanks,
