Does anyone have a text function that performs an automatic numbering? I'm placing items in my file that need to be numbered in the plan to indicate the quantity as placed. This would be much easier than just placing text on each item and then editing it as it's placed.

In Revit, text is just that text. If you want to derive a quanity of something, why not schedule it? Revit is a fully parametric database and can schedule/count anything.
