Help.  First real project in Revit, (2009).  I have a tilt up concrete building 250' wide, modeled completely, now they want to move the common corridore - stairs, rooms, elevator shaft, Floors, barrel vaulted Roof, etc..  I have section markers, and callouts aswell.  when I try to "move" or Align I get threats from Revit about shutting down.

How do I "Stretch (CAD term)" the coridore over 25' without screwing up everything else?

Thanks,

Jeff Coolbaugh

When you say move - what do you mean?

Up - down - sideways?  We don't have a clue!

Clarification...I have an entire building modled, the client wants to move the central common area 25' to the right.  with all of the walls floors and roofs involved, is there an easy way to "align" or "stretch" all of the elements easily.

I don't think that there will be an easy way to do it, but it does depend on how the model was set up.  If all the main walls are attched to grids and floors and roofs were created by referencing them to walls then it may not be too difficult.  Hide the things that you don't want to move.  I fear though that you may have to do it bit by bit to avoid your original problem of Revit threatening to shut down.  Best of luck - such a major change at such a late stage is always going to require some remodeling.

Your problem will be that some items will ony move in the x direction and some will move only in the y direction.  If you detach everything, uou can move all the model elements just fine but you will loose all dimensions and tags.  Keep a second file open and you may be able to copy / past dimensions and tags from one model to the other after moving.
