I know this is probably something very simple. I've already searched the forums and haven't really found a solution (which I think tells me that I'm an idiot ) Anyway, I have a bunch of joists in my model that are on the wrong workset. So, I select the joists, click element properties, and the workset parameter is grayed out (not editable). What gives? I OWN all of the worksets. No one else is currently working on the project. What am I missing?

I run into this all the time, go to File > Worksets and make sure that the ones you want to change are selected as "yes" under the "editable" column. Even when I'm the only person in the project I have to do this. I hope this works for you!

Everything is "yes" under the editable column. Still have the same problem.

That's odd...I'm not sure what else would be affecting it. Maybe in the drop-down list on the Worksets toolbar you have to have the workset that you want to modify selected? I don't know if pinned objects can be switched between worksets or not, you may want to test that out. If your joists are in a group then maybe try changing the workset both inside and outside of the group editor.

Your suggestion about groups gave me an idea that seems to work. Right now it appears that the joists that are problematic are part of a Beam System. If I select the beam system and change the workset to the correct one, then I'm able to select the individual joists and set them to the correct workset. Anyway, it appears that the problem is solved!! THANKS!!
