Hello Everyone,

I am working on a residential renovation and i have the drawing split up into phases: Existing, Demolition, and New Construction. When I draw a wall and then erase it, it doesnt go away everywhere. It will delete on the first floor(where it was drawn) but it still shows up in: elevations, 3d elevations, second floor w/ first floor underlay, etc. EVERYWHERE. So when I try to redraw a wall in the same location it says the following: (Highlighted walls overlap. One of them may be ignored when Revit finds room boundaries. Use Cut Geometry to embed one wall within the other.) And the new walls wont clean up.

Anyone know how to help me?

 Thanks,

Justin

Also, there is nothing above it on the second floor or below it on the basement.

Check your phase filter.  Change it to previous and new and see if that works.

Sorry, but how do you change your phase filter so that it only shown existing and new construction? When I pick that filter and pick apply it does nothing.

One thing that we have done was not use the demo phase.  We just demo things in the new construction and then that should work.  So I might have miss told you.  But if you are using all three phases double check that your are demoing and drawing things in the right phases.  You can do so by clicking element properties.

If you go to Setting>Phases... then to the Phase Filter tab that will show you what shows up in each filter and you can create your own to display how you want it to display.

Thanks for your help Blake. I was reading this article on phasing and it says that the number one mistake architects make is that they set up a phase for demo.
