I am looking to purchase several mobile workstations that will run Revit. Looking for suggestions on hardware specs that will run Revit better than average.

I am looking at possibly Dell systems so is anyone using anything from Dell?

Looking for advice on what operating system to purchase with the system, amount of memory, type of processor and speed and whether to go 32-bit or 64-bit?

Most systems are coming out with Vista but I believe Dell offers options with an XP Pro downgrade which can later be upgraded to Vista.

I dont want a system that will choke but to keep management happy I don;t want to spec a system that is overkill where the higher spec hardware components cannot be utilized by the software.

That being said, what type OS and I looking at, processor speed (# cores) and amount of memory should I get?

TIA!

i would only go with Vista(64 bit) if you are buying intel chip based machines. No less than 4Gb memory. the more the better, if possible.
