I am using a column family to create pilasters for my steel columns. I have steel piles underneath the pilasters. I need the piles to extend into the pilasters 6", but when I place the piles they automatically get attached to the bottom of the columns if the pile is at the insertion point of the column. I attached a picture of what I am trying to do. The pile on the right is correct, the pile on the left got attached to the pilaster (the column insertion point is off-center). Is there any way to force an isolated foundation family to not automatically attach to a column family?
