RAC 2008

I searched through the forums here, but could not find a similar issue.  I sketched a profile of a frieze board with attached bed moulding to use on our elevations; when I take a section through the house, it shows as a solid.  Is there a way to create the profile to show the individual pieces of material in a section view? This would be quicker than adding the separate pieces later with drafting components or lines.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Jim H.

As part of your profile family you can add detail components that show up when cut in section. Very cool..If you didn't create a profile family and did it "By Sketch" then create a profile family..

Robin - Thanks for the reply.  That is exactly what I was trying to do.

Typhoon - I think you must have misunderstood my question; sorry if I was unclear.  There are no furniture families involved in this situation, I was referring to wood trimwork on a residence.  I do appreciate you replying, though; I will try to keep your answer in mind for future reference.

Thanks again to you both.

Jim

One more thing to note.  If your profile is applied to a curved sweep, then the details component will not show up.
