We're using RStruc 2009 and yesterday we installed a new KIP 5000 print/copy/scan thing.

What I want to be able to do is Batch Plot.  For me, that means that if I have a set of 4 sheets and I want 10 copies of that set, I should be able to batch plot the set and the KIP should collate them properly.

I first tried using Revit's plot dialog box.  I selected the sheets I wanted, told it that I wanted 10 copies, and the KIP plotted 10 of the 1st sheet, then 10 of the 2nd sheet, etc., etc.  That's not good.

So, I installed Autodesk's new batch print extension for Revit 2009 . . . and seemingly, it doesn't allow you to plot more than 1 set.  So, I'm asking myself, "self . . . what good is it?"

Am I missing something simple?  Is there a good way to make this happen?  I know of a few work arounds but . . .

I am currently using RAC 2008 but i suppose the options are the same in 2009 too. When you go to File --> Print you get the window shown in the picture.

From print range--> selected view sheets you pick your drawings. When in options --> number of copies you put more than 1, then you should be able to tick collate. Maybe you just forgot to press that?

I did notice the collate feature in the plot dialog box but . . . not until AFTER I started this thread. Smile

However, it doesn't work . . . at least not with the kip.  There's even a collate feature (check box) in the KIP 5000 printing preferences (properties).  I've tried every combination of KIP's collate feature and Revit's collate feature and . . . same results.  I get 3 copies of sheet 1, then 3 copies of sheet 2, etc.

i am currently having the same problem. there has got to be a way to "collate" correctly. i cant get it to work on any printer so i am almost positive that the printer is not the problem but the program rather. if anyone has a suggestion on correctly printing batched sets i would appreciate it. i would rather not print one set at a time if there is a way around it...

This is obviously a problem with Revit. Have the same problem with collating sets. I have tested my printer using Word and it collates word docs perfectly.

Does any one know a fix? It will save alot of time and anguish.
