I have downloaded a lot of symbols from the site - mainly vehicles, trees, furniture.. for use in presentations.  But about 95% of the symbols/families create an error causing Revit to close and wanting to send an error report.  What could be the problem?  Very frustrating!  See attached error message.

Any suggestions? Help?

 Thank you

Hey, a few months ago I got that exact same error. I sent it to Autodesk but they never got back to me. The error occurred after I installed anit-spyware programs. The only way I could fix this was to reformat my computer and install Revit again. An Autodesk reseller told me the problem might be with your serial number (obviously), so re-installing Revit without reformatting won't work because your compter will still have the serial number in it's registry. He also said anitivirus programs affect the dll's of Revit, but I have no idea how. There might be other ways to fix this, but I'm not sure.

Ive had problems doing full uninstalls of corrupt programs before, there is freeware available to do so. Google the word uninstaller and several choices should pop up. These clean the file out of your registry for you for a clean re-install. Revo seems to be the most popular as far as being downloaded the most, and had fairly good reviews from those who used it. I cannot find the name of the one I used last....
