Revit 09 I've created a family which contains objects that are controlled by Yes/No visibility parameters, and that are attached to reference planes. I have set instance (dimensional) parameters to the reference planes so that when imported into the project the blue arrows show up and allow you to adjust as needed. That all works great....the problem being that whenever i turn one of those objects off (via the Yes/No visibility parameter) the blue arrows still remain from the reference plane/instance parameters. Has anyone developed a clever work around so that the arrows, and ultimately the reference planes turn off with the object?

I don't believe you can turn off the reference planes and thus.... the instance dimension label will still show.

Don't think you can do anything about the controll nodes.. You can add a Visibility ON/OFF controll to Referance Lines, not planes, but I don't think that will do much for the controll nodes either.

That's pretty much what i though - is there a better way that i should do this so that i still have the benefits of the control nodes, but not have the nuisance of the control nodes?

If the parameter is not "instance" you will not get the controll node. Post the Item for Review.
