Any suggestions on why my preliminary renderings have been looking ok except for the brick looking like this.

It looks like a 2008 rendering. In 2009 it will look much better..

Yeah, i think you are right Robin, and it's a render in Spring or Summer, we can see that kind of shrubs with flowers, also he/she don't tell the settings/quality of the render....
