Hi. we are architectural firm in Melbourne Australia Would like to hear from consultants, using Revit Structural and MEP. We are looking at fully documenting our projects on Revit, including all disciplines. Will consider firms from interstate.

We are a small MEP consulting Firm in Mich USA. We have people trained in Revit from both the mechanical side and the electrical side. It is a bit more expensive to use Revit for M&E design since it takes longer than 2d. Many of the Architects in our area have been asking the same question - where are the MEP Revit users? Currently we have completed several small jobs in Revit. We have two Revit users who are comfortable with the program and two more who have been trained but have not run a project in it. Our website is www.matrixceinc.com

Hi Fluffyfatcat Allthough we are a Land Surveying Firm here in Melbourne we use Civil3D which gives you the ability to import the 3D surface into Revit and have a Existing surface versus Proposed surface which will give you the cut and fill. We also do Internal Surveying of Buildings and can if required provide existing drawings in 2D&3D as well. If you would like to contact me for more info, my email address is dan@existingconditions.com.au and our website is existingconditions.com.au Do you have a web site? Regards. Daniel. Hi fluffy, We hail from parts north in the USA. We're a smaller Struct Eng company that has recently done several projects in Revit - most of which have not yet made it into construction. One of our larger projects on-the-go right now includes a substantial renovation of an ice skating arena, and associate community facilities. We are doing this whole project in Revit. Our findings are that Revit use is on an upward climb. Our aim is to be on the front edge of this new technology, and we have forged several working relationships with architects who are similarly using this platform. I'm curious about your situation, and the types of projects you're currently undertaking. Give us a shout back to compare notes... cheers Robt

Hi all thanks for replies I do not think we'be considering working with overseas firms at the moment...this is early days for us for that....I visited a Revit group forum this week on topic of collaboration with consultants and it sounded that it requies a great deal of comunication before (and during ) the process... As for Wood & Grieve from Sydney, we already met with your engineers in our office and I think they are on our list when the next opportunity arise...cheers. AnnaRatiner

Thanks for that feedback. We're find the world a much smaller place than it used to be, and with video conferencing and other communication tools these days, it certainly makes distance less of an obstacle than it was even 10 years ago. Good luck with your Revit endeavours...
