Hi All!

Got a problem that I have been trying to solve for the last couple of hours but still couldn't find it.

We got a project that projects a shadow on a neighbouring building, and we need to analyse at certain times during the day where that shadow is. It is quite easy to do this in planview, but we also need it on the wall (elevational view). My question is: How can you make a view of the neigbouring building with the shadows of our building on? I tried with sections, elevation views, etc... but the shadow of our building is never projected on that wall because our building is not even on the section. The view needs to be perpendicular on the wall cause we need to get areas from it, so no 3d views.

Is this possible? if Yes... how?

Thanks

We're using Revit Architecture 2008.

In your section the easiest method would be to setup a 3d iso view that matches your section and render it.  Unfortunately the "Use other views section box" option doesn't work in non-rendered views.

I used the section box in my 3d view but Revit is still not rendering the shadows cast from buildings outside the crop region onto the buildings in the crop region.
