Ive got some railings that show a material for all materials and I've got some railings that show materials on only the posts and balusters. the image with three rails that show up completely green has rails called "dimensional 2x4" the image that shows the rails as grey has a rail called "dimensional lumber 2" x 4" I changed the "dimensional lumber 2" x 4" rail to "dimensional 2x4" so that it would also show up green. Changing the rail to "dimensional lumber 2" x 4" didn't make a visual difference. I also have profiles that don't have a material option in the "type properties" dialogue box. Not understanding what's happening, I'm more than a little perplexed.

Find your railing components in yor browser under the railings category. If you right click on a type, you can set the material. Grey usually means it's set to default.
