I'm really hoping someone here can help me out or point me in the right direction, because after spending over $13,000.00 for the 2009 Revit-Autocad Suite and a brand new Boxx Tech workstation, Revit still runs no better than it did while running it on a partitioned disk in Boot Camp on a Mac laptop.I want to give this community as much info as possible up front so that, hopefully, someone here can tell me that I forgot to check the right box or something when i installed Revit. Here are the spec's for my workstation: Boxx 8400 Series 3-D WS DUAL Intel XEON E5420 2.50GHz, 12MB cache, 1333 MHz FSB (Quad-Core)8GB FBDIMM DDR2 800 REG ECC (4 - 2GB FBDIMMS)NVIDIA Quadro FX 3700 512MB500GB Serial ATA RAID 1 Array (2x 500GB 7,200rpm) 700 watt power supply OS = Windows XP pro 64 bit Even with all the hardware above, and Windows 64 bit XP installed...and nothing else at this time, the 3-d imaging on Revit still degrades very rapidly. After about a half hour into a project, the images start ghosting ( I can see through all the components while not in wireframe or an X-ray mode), obiting images in 3-D, with or without shadow effects turned on, becomes agonizingly slow and choppy, the system routinely crashes or informs that that it must close the current window due to an error, selecting colors in the Pantone menu sometimes causes the whole system to lock up and it must be re-started, as well as some other more minor issues. I've tried running Revit with and without Open GL, and it seems to run better without it, but still degrades to unusable after about an hour or so. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software not once, but twice with no improvements noted I received an invoice this week for the software , but if this is the best the software can run, I cannot see paying such a high price for it, especially when, as a paid subscriber, I cannot even speak with anyone at Autodesk. The only contact I'm allowed is apparently through email, which by the way, has yet to be answered by Autodesk. If I've misunderstood this situation, please forgive me, but I have searched high and low for a number to reach Autodesk support. I did read on their website that I should contact the reseller if I have problems, so maybe someone at there can help me. I really, really like Revit, and have become somewhat proficient in it while running the trial. I was running Revit on my Mac (with intel processors) on a partitioned hard drive via Boot Camp, and see little if any improvement with this new machine running pure Windows. To have this happen again after such a large investment in hardware is very disheartening. By the way, I'm not working on a complex or large project like a hospital or a skyscraper. I was attempting an addition for a 520 square foot garage. Signed- FRUSTRATED!!!

Sorry for the chopped up new topic above, but I cannot find an option here to edit your posts and much of the above post was cut and pasted from an email to the company I purchased the software through.
