Use a "Void" to do that...

Just my opinion. . . . that is a lame / leading answer with no details or explanation as to 'HOW'. It's also the wrong answer. There is more to that image with the stars than meets the eye. I call this 'confusing the user'.
.
Instead I would quickly create a new window or door family with no trim or glazing. Much better solution with re-usable content for future projects. Done in about 2 minutes.
.

I knew it would !

I used a 'window' template to make the family in the video. You could do the same with a door template.
.
It depands on if you want the opening to abide by the catagory of a window or a door once placed in a project.
.
I struggled with this myself way back when because I did not know you had to hover over and then 'tab' to select the opening perimeter in the family template to edit the outline of the opening with sketch lines. Once you get into 'sketch' mode in the family template you're on your way.
