I have created a black and white jpg image for use in defining cut-outs/ perforations in a new material (black=voids). I began the new material based on the 'generic' render appearance. However, once i apply this image to the material properties under the 'cut-out/ perforation' section, the entire material becomes transparent: the white sections of my image are not being understood by Revit as solid in the material. is there something I missed in setting up the initial jpg that will solve this problem? Some step in the drawing/creating process, or perhaps in saving the file as a certain type? Thanks...

Hi, I've done this numerous times and have not experienced that issue. Can you post the opacity map and outline what the material is? It may be as simple as using a different base material...

I've actually figured it out, or at least one solution that did work. The program I saved the jpeg in saved in CMYK format by default, without other options. I opened the image in photoshop and saved it with an RGB color scheme (I noticed that the default revit images were RGB when I searched their file properties). The same jpeg saved in RGB worked fine. Yes, it's that easy... hope this helps others!
