Got it today, wow I was so excited! I was just looking for a new set of coasters.

Now I have 4.

A DVD containing a version of Revit I already have (or could download)

A DVD containing a version of Autocad I already have (or could download)

2 DVD's (thats right - countem - 2!) of Autocad Architecture - software that anyone using Autocad doesn't need the features of, or anyone using Revit just sees as a second rate candidate.

Why would anyone who subscribes to the REVIT architecture suite want Autocad architecture? (And why would anyone want to learn ANOTHER pice of software)?

Pity it doesn't come with a prepaid return to send envelope.

Cryingdisclaimer: none of the statements above are to be taken too seriously, are are only for my own amusement and venting)

hi psymon,

this whole giving away Autocad Architecture, tells me that this product is getting close to the end of it's cycle as a big revenue generator for Autodesk.  but i'll take it for the same price that i am already paying. Now if we can get them to throw in Revit Structure and MEP also.

I have to agree with bot of you.  While I really like getting anything for free.  Usually I prefer to get things I want, for free.  I used to think ADT (now A4A) was the Sh*t, but then I saw Revit.  I wouldn't go back to ADT if you gave it to me for free.  Now, I have people in the office that think they should be allowed to use it because we have it now.  Gee Thanks Autodesk.

I think that they had a couple hundred thousand ccopies laying around, and no other way to get rid of them.  'I know let's pass them off on our consumers.'  It's cool though, I just recycle the packaging for them and toss the rest in my local landfill as opposed to there's.

I can't help but think that there will be a time in the future when a first time buyer installs his/her Revit "Suite" with Architecture and MEP ......with a great text editor....improved elevation tags.....a better set of window and door families...improved site tools/functionality...and some other wishlist items. Until then ......Autocad Architecture?????????? Not me. Maybe the bundle is really more to intice AA users to Revit than useful for us.

Until then Autodesk can say they have a great program in Revit.....but not the best it can be.

My mine concern is really the waste that it represents.... I am bit of a greeny and the fact that Autodesk ship however many 100's of thousands of these things around the world unnecessarily really irks me...

Does anyone know if you can ask NOT to have a physical copy sent to you? It is usually available on the web the day it is released anyway.... a bit like getting electronic bills not paper ones.
