ok i know you cant have a room area in a window schedule unless you divide the volume by ceiling height or you use wall height or what ever, but what if you have raked ceilings - how do i calculate an accurate room area in this situation? I dont see why we can access everything else in a room except its area which in my opinion is more important than its volume or most other parameters. Has anyone found a good workaround for this, i would be interested in hearing them all. Even if we could access calculated parameters from the room schedule i would be happy. thanks

Not sure what you are talking about since room area is a value that has always been available to you as part of the room properties.

Your quite right .... the information is there in the room - why isn't available in the "to room" "from room" application? I would think all information associated with a room should be avaible. AutoDESK maintains a wish site if you would like to post this there.

This topic has been discussed for years and i've never seen an automated way to merge the room area into your window schedule. I've created the room area parameter in our window family along with the room name that the window belongs to and set the windows to the proper room which you can then filter. Human error comes into play however when you then have to manually enter the room area into one of the windows for each habitable room. It works quite slick once your done but it would be sweet if you could tie the room area to the model rather than manual edit.
