I am doing a small renovation and I would like the existing walls to show without hatching/patterning. Does anyone know a good way to make that happen? I can't seem to find it. Thanks, Steve

go to settings/materials and find the material called phase-exist. Edit the cut properties to your desires. For instance, we show our existing walls as solid black. We give the phase-exist material that cut pattern. You could give it a solid white pattern

thanks, that worked well for section, but it doesn't seem to be working for the plans. Is there a way to make it work for plan as well? steve

I sort of have the same issue: i am working on an addition and have existing walls and floor that i want to show grayed-out in plan and section, but the client also would like to see a 3D image of the existing building with the addition. In the 3D image i don't want to have the existing show up as gray and the addition with the correct material. Is there a way to surface apply a material in the element properties structure tab so that it just shows up in the 3D?
