when inserting a door or window, i cannot get the 90mm cavity on the sides of the door. first image attached ( untitled1) shows my problem, and the 2nd image attached (joins1) shows how i would want it to look. any help would be most appreciated. thanks

Move one or both of your brick materials in your wall definition and set it to wrap at inserts. Basically... have the cavity be the "core" of your wall.

frenchie11, I saw your other post about the wall intersection issue too, so try doing what WWHub said, but only with the exterior brick layer, and set that layer to wrap. Then you'll get the intersections you want on the interior and the wrap you want at the doors.
