Using Revit 2009.  I've been having problems with brght splotches appearing around the areas where I've placed studio lights.  The wood material I'm using is set for the next setting above unfinished, and the metal I'm using on the light fixtures and the curved cloud on the right are set for a paint- too much reflectivity from brushed metals.  Any suggestions how I can get rid of the bright splotches?

What render setting are you using?

Thats so random, I would try 2 different things.

1. crank up your settings as high as they will go and region render one of the noisiest spots.

if that doesn't work

2. Change your material to something less reflective.

So I figured out the problem.  I added a glass object as a difuser for the light source to pass through.  When I deleted the glass object, most of the splotches/flecks/whatever you want to call them went away.  If you have the same problem, Check to make sure you don't have a light source diffused by glass!  Eliminating the glass also allowed the renderings to go MUCH MUCH faster!
