You can edit the profile of the wall. Select the wall and you should see "Edit Profile" in the options bar. If you need to do this for many walls, I wouldn't recommend using the Edit Profile. I would create a family and load it into your project. I use RAC2009, so here is a family I created just then.

  • Core 2 Duo E8400 3ghz
  • 756mb Nvidia 9600GSO 256bit
  • 6gb Kingston RAM 800mz DDR2
  • Windows XP Service Pack 3 32-bit

to create a hole like that, I think you can do it in two ways.. First, click the edit profile button in option bar (when you select wall instance), and then you can create your desired hole shape in sketch mode.. and if you want to make it as a door, you can create it in Door Family, change the opening shape into archway door like that... attached is the hole I create using edit profile.

ALC, "I can do it but only with rectangular forms", because you are making a "OPENING" isn't? well, openings work only in the Rectangle shape, to do that do like TIMBO said "pick the wall, edit profile and create the shape like in your picture, there must be only 1 "polyline" closed...
