Hello everyone,

I am currently working for a structural concrete supplier and also going to school for Architecture part time.  I am in my second year of school and loving all aspects of Architecture in general.  I have used Revit 2008 briefly and then stepped up to Revit Structure/Arch 2009.  I have purchased the book "Introducing Revit Architecture 2008" and have read through about half way (still reading--1 week working 40 hours, school 19 hours, and a 10 month old son doesn't leave much free time.)   I am really excited about Revit and what it can do.  I am sure I will be asking a lot of questions as I do have some now but I need to find the right forum.  Thank you for your time.

I think I have found some information on it but I'll ask anyway.

I need to add a thickened slab edge to a project but it isn't in the drop down and I can't duplicate a slab edge and change it's parameters.  I am not every used to the family editor so bear with me.  I have read I have to change it there and then load it into my project.  What I actually need is to create a slab edge that is 8" deep and 20" wide on the top side.

Hi, that image attached is in SECTION, right???? well if the awnser is Yes go to the left menu Modeling-Create, select the category, in this case can be "Floor", then use "Solid-Extrusion", draw that shape in a view you want and in the properties create a parameter in the materials to assign to that Slab, finish the extrusion and see in 3d if it's what do you need, you can create ref planes to help you when you draw....

Yes, that view is in section.  Thank you for the info and I'll try to do that and let you know if it works for me.

I got it to work.  In the project browser, I clicked on Families>Profiles>Slab Edge-Thickened.  Then I right clicked on the Slab Edge-Thickened and chose New Type.  Then I could proceed to edit the dimensions that I needed and name it accordingly.
