I am having trouble saving and exporting completed renderings. I am using 2009 and rendering at BEST with 400 DPI (I know, excessive DPI, but I find the materials render more accurately with higher DPI). Two things happen, 1: The rendering completes, and is visible on screen in Revit, but I am unable to export or save to project, and suffer the agonizing defeat of returning to the model without a rendering. Or: 2: A dialog box pops up when I start the rendering saying I do not have enough memory for the rendering. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi, the caracteristis, that's ok, the WEB UPDATE it's like a SP-Service pack for Revit 2009, you can check in this site: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=1101759 you can check in "WEB UPDATE ENHANCEMENT LIST (PDF)" the issues what this service pack solve, renders problems is one of them... after this you have the link to download the SP....

I'm having the same issue with 2010. (rendered at best 150 dpi) Will this upgrade work for the newer version, or is there another?

It's really simple, this is something that happens at my schools shitty computers too: THE RENDERING IS TOO BIG. Just do the rendering in multiple parts and join them in photoshop. Your welcome. Good luck with your crit.

This seems completely backward to me... so I have to shrink the image, render in 600 dpi so I can adjust it to a bigger size later. Just to add a wrinkle same problem in Revit 2011 too. Sigh. What's worse its in draft mode and I have removed all the other modeling and furniture out side of view just to get this thing to render all the way. I wanted this done allready.

This is not a complete solution, but if the rendering is completed, you can try saving the revit file before exporting the image. This helped me more often than not.

Contrary to geoartarch, I always found that exporting it first was safer. Saving it to the project first doubles the amount of space required.
