User- Revit 2009 I have read a thread on how to create another floor plan view from settings/browser organization, but have failed to see the sub menu created for my enlarged floor plan organization in the project browser. To be simple I have created new sub menus for elevations by just right clicking and crating new view type, but floor plan view does not allow this. A step by step prcedure for creating another floor plan sub folder in the project browser would be a great help. Thanks, Jeff

We added a "View Group" Project Parameter under the "Views" catagory. I attached a view of the parameter settings. Then we customized a new Browser Configuration to add sub-categories. We set the "View Group" parameter in each view to what kind of view it was, i.e. "Enlarged Floor Plan", "Exterior Glazed Openings", etc.. They show up like the attached image in our Project Browser. I can take more screenshotsor help with specific questions too, if you need.

This is what I ended up dooing but I don't like the fact that it affects all my other families (elevations, Sections Area plans......). It will make things easier if you could just duplicate the family type for the floor plans. Like you do with elevations. Thanks

do you know if you can also group the Legend and The Schedules? the Parameter is there on the view options but it is not using it to group the views.

Spend some time with your help menu to read up on the project browser, properties, and the discipline options. In order to get a floor plan, elevation etc. to move to the correct discipline you need to click on it in the Project browser, and change the Discipline of it under the Properties.
I do not use MEP but I believe that Sub-disciplines are simply typed into the Properties Palette and then once typed it can be selected in the drop-down list on other views.
