Hey all,

This is my first and probably not last post on Revit. So here we go!

My company has just started to ventur out into the Revit world and are working quite well in it. As we move along we are beginning to set office Revit standards such as Annotations, texts, tags, etc. so that Revit and AutoCAD produced projects from are office look the same.

I have a question in regards to custom tag creations with leaders. The Mechanical group has begun to create custom tags and ran into a question. They created a custom Pipe tag and added a comment parameter so that they could have the tag read the pipe diameter as well as note what type of pipe it is. Right now it seems that the leader defaults to the center of the entire tag. Is there a way to left justify the leader? Is it be a change made within the family or directly in Revit itself. As of now we could not figure out the anser so I thought I would give it a shot here and see what other people may suggest.

I bet this might be a simple question to ask but any help would be great! Thanks!

I have attached an example of the tag for reference.

I'm guessing that the text is centered on the reference lines in the tag.  When you are in the tag family editor you can turn on the reference lines by going to the visibility graphics overrides and then move the text and left justify it about the center of the reference lines.

hi.

good information regarding tags but what if the tag leader is vertical....

i cannot get the custom tag to have the leader come in at either the center of the comment or the center of the material number.

is there a way to do this?

 thanks, victor
