Im on 2009 revit doing the tutorial of the retail bldg.

I want to sketch floor 4 out using floor three below...but when I change from 03 level to 04 level, the floor below dissapears, so I cant use the floor sketch tool and the align commant to get a new floor because I cant see the floor below.

this doesnt happen from floor one to two or two to three.....is there a setting that lets you see the floor below that is off or something?

Ya, when you are on the 4th floor plan, right click- element properties - underlay (3rd floor)

once you turn this on, you will be able to see the greyed out 3rd floor.

You can also copy sketch lines between sketches. You could open the sketch for Floor3, copy (ctrl+c) the pink sketch lines, and finish the floor without changing anything. Then go to the Floor4 view and start a new floor, use Edit > Paste Aligned > Current View, and the lines will past in exactly the same spot as Floor3. (you could also do this with the floor itself and not the sketch if you don't want to edit the Floor4 sketch before finishing)
