I'm creating my first toposurface using the pick points command and am having trouble making the Revit contours match the AutoCAD base drawing that I imported.  When I pick points to create an irregular line, the Revit contour maintains a perimeter around the outer most points instead of following from point to point.  What can I do to resolve this problem.  Please help.

Hi, can you put some screen shots to figure it out? If you have an Autocad base drawing with the contours, and if these contours (in CAD) have elevation, you don't need to create points (I pick points to create an irregular line) to create your contours, only if you have 3 or 4 contour lines in CAD and they are with elevation=0, then you can do what are you doing...

I'm not sure I fully understand your question mwirkkula but then again being your first time thru it you may not be explaining it quite right. I do have a hunch your answer lies in the Settings > Site Settings dialog box. See attached image. This is where you can take some control of how and where contours get placed.

And in VG you also can change in "Topography" the "Primary and Secondary contours" - Weight, color and pattern... you must clarify more what you want and need..

This is true. I am having this issue as well please see pic for explanation. the green lines are my autocad contours and you can see that the revit contours (black) do not match up. Why is this or better yet how can I fix it?

Hi, go to Settings-Site setting and and change the "Intervals of:" to put your "primary contours" like the model in CAD and change the "Increment" value to "secondary contours"...

Hi see the image, you work in Feet and fractional inches and i work in meters, then i see the CAD file and the contours line have a Funny elevations beetween them, (779.00, 779.8333, 779.6667 meters) and so one, so its very difficult to set the right value to the lines, see the parameters i put in site settings and try in FEET (like you work) try adjust the most possible to the near of CAD file....
