Apparently Autodesk recently purchased a software called Ecotect.  It does energy modeling, acoustic studies, light studies, etc.  I'd never heard of it till this afternoon and looking at the PR photos, it seems to be a Sketchup based program.  I was wondering if anyone had heard of it or used it and what the pros and cons of trying to use it in tandem with Revit might be.

I've used Ecotect. Great Software for energy anaylsis and lighting analysis. The catch is...you have to model inside the software to get the anaysis tools to work. Walls, windows and roofs are imbedded with analysis tags, so they have to be made in Ecotect- not imported. This may change now that Autodesk has it.

Ecotect had a really great customer and research department. You could go to the web site, post a question and get an immediate reply. Also, they always worked to make the software better- no ongoing issues that never get resolved.

I'm sorry to hear that Autodesk has this...I'm sure it will get better- but, the service will cost you and be less responsive.
