Hi, I need to export some models from 3D Studio Max 7 to Revit 7. I have used the DWG export but this not work as I need. I need to create new object family with the 3D Studio Max object. Someone know if ther's any plugin or something else (created also from third party) that can export from 3D Studio Max to Revit 7 or let Revit 7 import 3D Studio Max objects? Thanks

what object are you trying to bring in Revit? If that is a component object you can do it with the dwg export from max then import it into revit make sure to import that object inside a family template if it's a component then use any component template accordingly or generic family template. If that is something else say a mass of a building you can't make it as a mass family in revit as revit cannot convert an imported surface object into revit mass object only solid object.

I am trying to import a chair, my final objective is to import a set of special furnitures and use them inside Revit (I want to use Revit because I need to add some attributes to this new components and add simple formulas in order to create tables with some data inside the project sheets). Now I try to follow your suggestion (but I am a newbie with Revit). Thanks again
