I'm new to Revit, so this may be a no brainer:

I created a new family based on the concrete column family and re-drew a profile in an L shape.  I applied listening dimensions in order to be able to adjust the legs of the L in both directions.  I set the work plane to Lower Ref. Level, and left the extrusion parameters the same (start at 0', end at 9').

However, when I load the element into a model, no matter what level I'm at it inserts it at 0'-0" and is 9'-0" tall.  I can then move it to a different level by adjusting it's parameter, but it will not change height to match the upper level I set.

There must be something simple I'm doing wrong.  See attached file.
