How do I switch my dimensions from imperial to metric?

You have to make a new dimension style and uncheck "use project units" and change it to what ever metric you would like ie milimeters.  Unless you are talking about temporary dimension in which you have to change your project units under settings.

Yeah, if you go to UN and change the "Lenght format" to "Meters", your Imperial dimensions (Feet and fractional inches) transform automatically to meters (metric system) you also don't forget to change "Rounding"... If you want, of course...
