I am evaluating the possibility of producing a partition type sheet for a set of construction drawings. I figured it could be done in a legend view using legend components and detail components for the top and bottom of the wall. The question is: is it possible to tag wall layers as you do with other revit objects so that the text description is entered automatically and linked to the actual layer avoiding having to manually enter the text? It would save time and avoid possible mistakes, it seems in the Revit mentality, I just was not able to find the command and I am afraid it is just not there. Thanks for any advice.

How about a work around but could also be cumbersome..... using different wall type and place side by side then just use join geometry to cut any wall hosted alement through out your wall width this way you can tag each layer.
