Hey everyone, I have an odd situation.  I'm working on Interior Elevations in Revit Arch. 2009 and as I was changing some objects in the background to a gray lineweight, the lines of the object moved to the front of the drawing.  It's hard to explain, so I'll be more specific.

The object in the background is a door.  about 10 feet in front of the door is a reception desk.  I used the lineweight tool to change the color of the door/door frame to a gray and when I did that the lines came to the forground and could be seen infront of or through the desk and even into the soffit that is lower than the top of the door.  I tried changing it back to the original lineweight but it doesn't work.

The only way I have found to fix it is by deleting the elevation and creating a new one, which would also make me redo the entire elevation.

Any one else have this problem?

When you use the linework tool you are selecting an actual edge not just a line. The edge is complete even though it is being obscured by other objects in the view. The solution is

1. Select the linework tool

2. Pick the line that you wish to change

3. After picking the line and before picking another line, you will notice some blue dots on the endpoints of the line. Use one of these to move the endpoint of the line to the desired length.

Ah, i see.  That makes sense.  Is there a way to go back and make adjustments to the edges I've already clicked on?

I think you can just click on them again with the same lineweight tool and the dots will show up.

I just checked and found out that you will need to change them back to <By Category> first and then reselect and move the endpoints
