i am trying to do shadows on plan and site views for presentation drawings and am having difficulties creating shadows from trees (.rfa files).
Does anyone know of an easy way to insert vegetation and trees that form shadows in these view without having to render?

Unfortunately in order to display shadows on vegetation you'd have to have some sort of solids in the planting family...
Might just have to model a trunk and ball on top to represent the shadowing. Alternatively you could import an Autocad tree model... Nesting planting families will force them to scale according to the size you have set for the tree...
